September 10, Melbourne – A Sydney based builder has paid $495,000 at what is believed to be a record square metre rate for a warehouse property at Altona in a deal brokered by Commercial Bureau Director, Gideon Marcus.
Mr Marcus said the marketing campaign for the 246 square metre property attracted a huge amount of interest and several offers from both owner-occupiers and investors including a significant interstate contingent.
He said the 10/15-17 Slough Rd property, which currently operates as a café, was sold with a short term lease to the purchaser who will use it as its Melbourne warehouse base. Â
``The sale reflected the very strong demand for affordable and well located industrial properties in Melbourne at the moment including a number of calls from interstate buyers despite Covid restrictions Â
``The property is very well situated to Melbourne’s freeway network and on the edge of Melbourne’s booming western suburbs and as such offered sound fundamentals for both business and capital growth,’’ Mr Marcus said.Â
Part of an industrial unit complex the property also offered on-site parkingÂ
The vendor was a Sydney based owner-occupier.
