In another major recruitment move from the fastest-growing commercial agency in NSW, X Commercial, the former McGrath Head of Franchise Network, Gary Vouris, has been hired to further drive its expansion plans throughout NSW.
While Head of Franchise for McGrath, Mr Vouris saw their office network grow from 30 to over 100 offices. Gary said his initial efforts in the current role would be spent implementing the techniques that had worked in the residential space and adapting them into the commercial agency practice.
“There’s just a huge opportunity to take what Daniel [O'Brien] and his team have done in the last 18 months with X Commercial and really capitalise on their agency model,” Mr Vouris commented.
“Initially the focus is going to be around the structures and efficiencies of the business and helping the existing agents by putting a bit of structure and rigour around their agents’ goals and actions. I am pleased to be walking into a very competent, driven, and ambitious group of people and I am genuinely excited to apply what has worked for me in the past into the commercial real estate sector.”
Mr Vouris said current market conditions suited X Commercial’s expansion plans, as it offered the brand an easy way to highlight its main points of difference – which are attractive commission splits and an environment you can earn equity or even start your own office with supportive business partners.
Daniel O’Brien, X Commercial's Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the appointment of Mr Vouris; “The commercial space is ready for disruption, the disconnect between what the global firms offer their agents in commissions and what we can offer them is noticeably different. In my view, the way residential agents approach marketing and growth is and always has been about 5 or 10 years ahead of the commercial agents and market."
