EXCLUSIVE
In his first major in-depth interview, it's a privilege to have on our series legendary Australian businessman and founder, Ian Malouf.
Ahoy Club - https://ahoyclub.com/
Throughout a career spanning close to four decades, Ian has established an enviable track record of success, building industrial waste management & disposal business Dial-A=Dump Industries (DADI Group) four months after completing school and with a budget of only $700 to become one of the Nation's largest privately owned businesses.
In 2018, owing to the extraordinary growth that Dial-A-Dump had achieved over the proceeding thirty-four years, competitor Bingo Industries acquired the business in a $577m transaction, marking the beginning of Ian's legacy and providing him with an opportunity to explore opportunities in new industries and market segments.
Following completion of the sale of the business, Ian alongside his daughter Ellie, founded digital yacht chartering platform Ahoy Club, having grown frustrated at the industry's lack of innovation and the excessive commissions being charged by brokerage companies to yacht owners around the World.
Since launching four years ago, Ahoy Club has become the go-to platform for yacht charters globally, offering a multi-disciplined service across more than four-thousand professionally crewed charter yachts that offer Ahoy Club members best-in-class service with booking discounts of up to 30%.
In addition to his current business interests which span property investment, yachting and the development of waste-to-energy plants alongside fellow industrial magnate John Richards, Ian is a Board Member of Bingo Industries and dedicates his time and resources to a number of charitable causes.
Today's discussion will explore Ian's background, the extraordinary story of Dial-A-Dump Industries, the Ahoy Club platform and key lessons and advice he can share from over thirty-eight years in business.
